PROTECT YOUR EYES FROM ARTIFICIAL BLUE LIGHT WITH LAB-VERIFIED

BLUE LIGHT BLOCKING GLASSES!

More people today rely on technology than ever before. In fact, it's estimated that the average American spends three to six hours on their smartphone every day. That's not even counting all the extra hours they often spend on laptops, computer screens and other digital devices. All of these electronic devices emit harmful artificial blue light. Prolonged exposure to artificial blue light can damage your eyesight and disrupt your body’s natural sleep cycle.

Fortunately, you can help protect your eyes from harmful blue light with the help of Groovy Bee® Blue Light Blocking Glasses. That's why the Health Ranger Store is bringing back two versions of our high-quality blue light-blocking glasses. Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) have a lighter tint meant for indoor use for daytime reading and viewing of digital devices. Meanwhile, Groovy Bee® Blue Light Blocking Amber Glasses are designed for outdoor use, as well as indoors prior to bedtime for better-quality sleep (use at least 2-3 hours before bedtime). Expertly made in Taiwan, both of our blue light-blocking glasses provide superior optical clarity that lets your eyes work with less strain while still helping reduce your overall exposure to harmful blue light.

Our Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) and Groovy Bee® Blue Light Amber Blocking Glasses feature simple and sleek designs and are registered as medical devices with the FDA. They provide full eye coverage and are lab verified to block UVA and UVB rays. Additionally, they are waterproof, windproof and shockproof and they feature non-slip nose pads that ensure they stay comfortably in place no matter how long you wear them.

What is blue light?**

The electromagnetic spectrum is made up of different light frequencies, including red, orange, yellow, green and blue light. Blue light is called a high-energy visible (HEV) light since it emits high levels of energy, and it can be seen by the naked eye. Blue light makes up roughly a third of all visible light. It also has a short wavelength ranging between 450 to 495 nanometers (nm).

The human eye can block some UV rays, but it isn’t very efficient at blocking out blue light. The cornea and lens of the human eye simply do not have the ability to block or reflect blue light.

Smartphones, television and computer screens, and other digital devices all emit artificial blue light. Exposing your eyes to all that unnecessary blue light is the reason why your eyes get tired when you spend a lot of time on your digital devices. And since it's impossible to completely avoid using electronic gadgets, it is important to protect your eyes against harmful blue light exposure.

Why do you need to protect your eyes from blue light?**

While moderate exposure to natural blue light (such as sunlight) can be healthy, the artificial blue light emitted by electronic devices can disrupt your body’s natural sleep-wake cycle. According to a study from the journal BMC Research Notes, this is because blue light can trick your body into thinking it's still daytime even though it's already night. This can, in turn, negatively impact your sleep quality at night.

A study that was published in the Scientific Reports indicates that constant exposure to blue light from cell phones and other devices can also damage your eyes. This is particularly concerning since it is estimated that the average American spends three to six hours on their smartphone every day. While you can limit your exposure to blue light, for most people, it is simply impossible to avoid it completely. Fortunately, blue light-blocking glasses provide the perfect protection against harmful blue light exposure.

Common sources of artificial blue light**

Blue light that comes from man-made sources is also known as “junk light.” Due to society's reliance on modern technology, you are constantly surrounded by it. Here are some of the most common sources of junk light in your home:

TABLETS AND OTHER DIGITAL DEVICES

SMARTPHONES

TELEVISION

According to a study back in 2017, most Americans look at their phones 80 times a day, on average. While smartphones are useful, they can also expose your eyes to significant amounts of blue light, especially at night.

Watching TV for too long is bad for your eyes as it may leave your eyes feeling tired or give you a headache. While blue light screen filters now exist, not all TV models come with this feature.

While technology has allowed most people to carry the processing power of a small computer in their pockets, this has also made people overly dependent on their electronic devices.

FLUORESCENT BULBS AND LED LIGHTS

COMPUTERS AND LAPTOPS

Blue light is also emitted by LED and fluorescent light bulbs. Even if you completely stop using mobile devices, you can still be exposed to excessive blue light. Since blue light affects your circadian rhythm, make sure to turn off your bedroom lights at night so you can maintain a healthy sleep-wake cycle.

Nowadays, many jobs require people to sit in front of a computer screen for roughly eight hours a day. This can be especially bad for people who continue working late into the night as it forces them to soak up large doses of blue light.

What are blue light blocking glasses?**

Blue light-blocking glasses are protective eyewear specially designed to filter out harmful blue light emitted by digital screens, electronic devices and other sources while still allowing you to see your screen clearly. These glasses can help reduce your overall exposure to blue light.

Our Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) and Groovy Bee® Blue Light Blocking Amber Glasses both feature a simple and sleek design. They have special lenses that provide superior visual clarity and more effective contrast between red and blue objects. Our high-quality blue light-blocking glasses are registered as medical devices with the FDA and are windproof, waterproof and shockproof. Additionally, they can block both UVA and UVB rays, so you get maximum eye protection.

What can blue light-blocking glasses do for you?**

THEY CAN SUPPORT HEALTHY SLEEPING PATTERNS

THEY PROVIDE GOOD COVERAGE AND ARE COMFORTABLE TO WEAR

Blue light greatly affects your body's natural sleep-wake cycle, or circadian rhythm, by tricking your body into thinking that it’s still daytime, which may keep you awake at night. Try using our blue light-blocking glasses when reading or using digital devices before going to bed to support healthy sleeping patterns.

Our blue light-blocking glasses reduce your overall exposure to blue light while providing great all-around coverage and protection for your eyes. They are also incredibly lightweight and have non-slip nose pads, so you can wear them for long hours without feeling any discomfort.

THEY CAN SUPPORT HEALTHY EYE FUNCTION

THEY CAN HELP RELIEVE TIRED EYES

Blue light-blocking glasses support healthy eye function in two ways. First, they can block artificial blue light from digital devices, Second, they can also protect your eyes from the sun's natural UVA and UVB rays that can further damage your eyes after prolonged exposure.

Constant exposure to blue light can leave you with tired eyes. Our Groovy Bee® Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses are lab validated to filter out artificial blue light from electronic devices, thereby helping reduce digital eye strain and limiting overall blue light exposure.

What's the difference between our Amber and Tea Tint Blue Light Blocking Glasses?**

Both of our top-quality blue light-blocking glasses are lab validated to block blue light. However, our Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) are made of a durable material and they also pass the falling ball impact test. While our tea tint blue light-blocking glasses may have a more limited blue light-blocking ability (due to lighter tint), they also use a light and warm tone color tint for reducing eyestrain, making them clear and comfortable to use, especially in an indoor setting. Moreover, they utilize TR90 frames that are durable, while still being lightweight and flexible.

Designed for indoor use for daytime reading and viewing of digital devices, Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) have the ability to block 100% of blue light within the 400 to 420 nm range. However, it still keeps the necessary blue light for preventing chromatic aberration, which can make objects look blurred. The chromatic aberration of tea tint glasses is smaller, because the tint is lighter, which allows for a natural and comfortable viewing experience. Our Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) are suitable for indoor or dim environments instead of a bright outdoor environment.

Our Groovy Bee® Unbreakable Indoor Blue Light Blocking Glasses (Tea Tint) are tested and validated to block blue light wavelengths at the following intervals:

Groovy Bee® Blue Light Blocking Amber Glasses are designed for both outdoor use, as well as indoors prior to bedtime for better quality sleep (at least 2-3 hours prior to bedtime). While our blue light blocking amber glasses are suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, they are engineered as sunglasses, blocking a considerable portion of all visible light. For some users, this may make these glasses too dark for indoor use with computer monitors or electronic devices, but it works great to reduce the intensity of light that reaches your eyes during the crucial hours before bedtime. (It depends on the person and how much brightness they need.) Some customers wear these glasses both indoors and out, while others use them solely as outdoor sunglasses.

Our Groovy Bee® Blue Light Blocking Amber Glasses are tested and validated to be able to block blue light wavelengths at the following intervals:

Watch out for fake blue light blocking glasses in the market**

It is unfortunately common for unscrupulous sellers to take advantage of buyers by offering them regular glasses that have ineffective filters. Many vendors in the market sell counterfeit blue light glasses without providing the transmittance spectrum of the glasses they are selling. Other sellers may also falsely label their glasses by exaggerating the range of their blue light-blocking capabilities.

Make sure you purchase blue light-blocking glasses only from vendors that you trust. You can check the capability of blue light-blocking glasses by looking at their transmittance spectrum charts. Furthermore, make sure the blue light-blocking glasses you buy can truly block "blue light" within the wavelength ranges they claim.
